Barış ÖzistekCEO at Boğaziçi Ventures Barış Özistek joined SHR Group as CEO at the beginning of 2011, where he led the successful sale of two internet companies to foreign investors. From 2013 to 2022, he served as the Chairman of the Board for Netmarble EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). Netmarble, a global gaming company headquartered in Seoul, Korea, with offices worldwide, including Istanbul and Dubai, is known for prominent brands in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions such as Joygame, Wolfteam, Paramanya, MARVEL Future Fight, BTS World, and Lineage 2: Revolution. As of 2022, Barış Özistek secured investment from Canadian company Yahoo Inc. for the Joygame company and continued his role as the Chairman of the Board. |
He is also one of the founders of Turkey’s largest startup support program, “StartersHub,” and actively served on the Board of Directors from 2015 to 2020.
Having held senior executive positions responsible for Turkey, the Caspian Sea, and the MENA region in various international firms such as Adecco and Bureau Veritas, Barış Özistek is well-versed in diverse professional environments.
After completing his education in Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, Barış Özistek earned a master’s degree in Mechanical and Energy Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the same university. Following numerous training sessions in management, sales, and marketing, he furthered his education with an Advanced Leadership Program at IMD Business School in Switzerland.
Özistek is an Executive and Board Member of the Turkey Informatics Foundation, one of Turkey’s leading non-governmental organizations. He is actively involved in prominent civil society organizations such as TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association), Women in Technology Association, TÜBİSAD (Informatics Industry Association), Girvak, and the Blockchain Turkey Platform (BCTR).
